Recent PCOS Diagnosis and Spearmint Tea Comment
I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH PCOS ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO AFTER MANY YEARS OF HAVING IRREGULAR PERIODS. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS SINCE I FIRST GOT MY MENSTRUAL CYCLE. AT 13 YRS. OLD I WAS PLACED ON BIRTH CONTROL & I STAYED ON IT FOR ABOUT 3 YRS. SOON AFTER I STARTED TO HAVE REGULAR PERIODS BUT THEN I WENT BACK TO HAVING IRREGULAR PERIODS. SO I WAS PLACED BACK ON THE PILL FOR ABOUT 3 YRS. & DECIDED TO GET OFF OF THEM AGAIN. I GOT PREGNANT SOON AFTER BUT HAD COMPLICATIONS.
FOR THE NEXT 2 YRS. EVERYTHING WAS SOMEWHAT NORMAL AND THEN I GOT PREGNANT AGAIN BUT THIS TIME I HAD AN ECTOPIC PREGNANCY & HAD MY RIGHT FALLOPIAN TUBE REMOVED.
SO NOW AFTER TWO PREGNANCIES & NO BABIES I DECIDED NOT TO PUT MYSELF THROUGH ALL THE HEARTACHE & STARTED BIRTH CONTROL AGAIN. I GOT OFF OF THE BIRTH CONTROL AFTER ABOUT A YEAR. I'VE BEEN MARRIED FOR 5 YRS. NOW & HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE FOR 3 OF THOSE 5 YRS. & NO SUCCESS.
MY DOCTOR HAS PUT ME ON CLOMID 50 MG FOR 3 MONTHS. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK THEN THE NEXT STEP IS TO HAVE A D & C & THEN CONTINUE ON THE CLOMID.
I'VE BEEN TOLD ABOUT AN HERBAL TEA CALLED CHICKWEED THAT CAN HELP OUT WITH THE PCOS. I HAVEN'T STARTED DRINKING IT YET BUT I'VE BEEN TOLD ABOUT 2 SUCCESS STORIES FROM WOMEN WHO HAVE DRANK THIS TEA. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS TEA HELPING WITH PCOS OR OF ANY TEAS THAT CAN HELP WITH PCOS OR INFERTILITY?

Editor's note: I've haven't yet seen any evidence that chickweed tea is effective for PCOS. However, we did report that spearmint tea was quite effective for reducing testosterone and hirsutism in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
