Praying for hope and guidance
by Stephanie Mounger

I am 19 and I am married. My husband is in the Army, main reason for being married so young. We have been married for a year now and are high school sweethearts.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18, but I think I've had for longer than that. Ever since I have started my period I have always been irregular.
But when I was 17 I stopped having my period all together.
It never dawned on me that something could be wrong, so I just let it go. I hated having my period so I considered it a blessing that I didn't have one. LOL.
But little did I know, I had PCOS.
Unfortunately I do not have a success story. I am more or less looking for hope and some guidance.
My husband tries to talk with me about it, but he just doesn't understand.
In high school, when I was 18, I weighed 150 pounds. I was in good shape. But since then, I think the PCOS has taken a huge toll on my body.
And not to mention I have never worried about my eating habits until now. I now weigh 190 pounds. I don't look overweight, but I feel it. And I know when I do actually become pregnant, my weight will get worse. And I know afterwards, I will have more trouble losing the baby weight.
At the end of this email, I'm going to include my email. So if anyone has any advice for me, some things I should go buy that help, what I should ask my doctor about. Anything will help.
I want to lose this weight, but I don't know how.
I don't know what the right things to eat are, how to exercise the right way. If you can help me in answering those questions, please email me.

I really could use all the advice possible.

Editor's comments: Hi Stephanie, I think an excellent place to educate yourself as to how to gain the upper hand over PCOS, and the diet that will help you lose weight, I suggest The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility book.
