How I'm trying to beat pcos.

I'm so thankful I found this group you all are so inspirational to me!
I was diagnosed with PCOS about 4 years ago. I noticed I was gaining weight but I was on a weight loss program and was walking 3 miles a day. I was gaining weight. All the other symptoms such as periods being absent for several months at a time, being fatigued feeling sluggish, depressed, excessive hair growth on my face etc. were all there and I had no idea what was going on.
I believe I have had PCOS since I was 13 I just didn't know it until I was 29.
I finally went to the dr. and she pretty much right away told me it was PCOS. She made me get a test where they check your ovaries. It came back that I had tiny cysts all over my ovaries. My dr. wanted to put me on bc pills. I told her no.
So she put me on metformin. It made me bloated and sick and made me gain more weight.
I started reading and doing lots of research about PCOS and natural herbs to help instead. I started taking Don quai root pills, vitex, progesterone cream twice daily, cinnamon Bark tablets to control my insulin problem. (it really works) before I got on the cinnamon the dr. checked my insulin levels and said they were high.
After taking the cinnamon for a year she checked me a gain by blood work and said my levels were normal.
I did this for about a year I was starting to feel a little bit better but still was gaining weight.
My husband and I tried for 2 and a half years to conceive but no luck!
Then I started doing some more research and came across the PCOS fertility book diet for people with PCOS the one listed above I believe. It is great!
I started doing the diet and within approx. 2 months we were pregnant.
I couldn't believe it! We were so happy! Today we have a 11 month old that is active and healthy. So please Ladies Don't give up!!! There is hope I promise! Try to exercise and watch your carb intake and sugar. I will keep you all in my prayers. God is good!

Editor's comments: Congratulations, Angie!
The book I think Angie is referring to is The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility, which is now available only as an ebook.
Here is an excellent cinnamon extract product.
