Top Specialists Who Treat PCOS
Would you like to find a doctor who:
- Can get better health results for you?
- Knows more about PCOS than your present doctor?
- Is familiar with all the possible treatment options?
- Is more experienced in treating PCOS than your present doctor?
If you're less than satisfied with your present treatment, it may be time to see a physician who specializes in PCOS.
But…how do you find one in your area? Where do you start? It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. If you've already been searching for a top PCOS specialist, you know how difficult it is find one! It's one thing to find a list of doctors in your area -- but how do you determine whether they have a real interest and competence in treating polycystic ovary syndrome? The truth is, there aren't very many doctors who have a specialty in PCOS or know how to effectively treat it.
We don't have our own list of PCOS specialists because of the immense amount of time it takes to track down these doctors and compile their information. However, we have discovered a medical research firm that will compile a list for you. It's called The Health Resource, which was founded in 1984 and is run by a group of women who specialize in medical research.
Update, May 2011: We were saddened to hear that The Health Resource has closed its doors. They offered a valuable and unique service. At this time, we do not have any way to provide you with a list of health professionals who specialize in polycystic ovary syndrome.
If you live in the Bay area in California, we can recommend the San Francisco Natural Medicine clinic.
If you live in the United States, The Health Resource will research and compile a list of physicians in your state or region who have demonstrated a special interest in treating polycystic ovary syndrome. To determine a doctor's interest and qualifications, The Health Resource investigates eight different sources for area of expertise, qualifications, published research, membership in professional societies, conference presentations, awards and other factors. They also factor in feedback from patients when it is available.
They also do their best to weed out those who say they treat PCOS but aren't qualified. For example, they recently discovered a physician who said he treated PCOS, but when they checked his background, they discovered his license had been suspended for five years.
The list you will receive is your best shot at getting a valid list of doctors who can help you with PCOS. Your list will include both conventional and holistic physicians, if any holistic physicians can be found in your region.
You get a carefully selected list of the top doctors in your area who have a special interest in treating PCOS and who appear to be best qualified to help you.
There is no other place on the Internet where you can get a list of this quality. And more importantly, you will have an opportunity to find the doctor who can best help you!
